Review of Yesterday's Matches:

I did think Spain U19 at 1.81 odds was enticing , and relatively big, and they won 4-0 against Portugal u19. As I wrote yesterday, Panathanaikos did not need to win in the Champions League play-off. A 0-0 resulted. HJK Helsinki won 2-1. It was clear with the in-play stats that it was only going to go one-way at 1-1. 0-0 in the Orebro match when I expected both teams to score and a goal at least before halftime. A reminder I suppose that it is the early stages in Sweden. 0-4 to Marienlyst. Over 2.5 goals was a strong stat and came in. Both teams to score did not occur. What do you expect of 1.08 shots? How about 4 goals at halftime and 0-7 fulltime. That's what happened in Rosenborg's match. I suppose Malmo had an itch to scratch. 3 away without a win. That ended with a 1-2 v Gefle. Again, research accuracy suffering because of the small sample of matches to work with. Ostersunds won 3-2 and the score line was a 2-1 at halftime to them. Laying the 0-0 halftime score was a success. As you see, Ostersunds scored 2+ as per the research so accurate there. Both teams did score in the Galatasary match and the 0-0 halftime score came in. As I said yesterday, lay Bursaspor if they score first, which they did. 1-1 at halftime and 2-3 to Galatasary full-time. There were no strong angles in the PAOK match. Atromitos needed to win. They did. 0-1. The cup match in Austria was 0-0 at fulltime. Red Bull won in extra time. Lech Poznan were emphatic in this Polish play-off series, winning 1-6. Gornik scored first so we had a good angle in there. San Marino u21 lost 0-3 to Georgia u21. As per 1.11 shots, did you lay the 0-0 halftime score? The goal came in the 44th minute. So a nice bet available there in the 0-0 halftime score lay market. Serena Williams was "on game" yesterday winning 2-0 in sets rather than losing the first set as she has done recently. Laying Andy Murray 3-0 sets just stood out for me, so seeing him 2-0 up, I did have perspiration on the brow. Ferrer the Terrier won the 3rd set 7-5 so the bet came in. NOW, those of you clued up, would have layed Murray 2-0 up in the match odds market or the 3-0 set betting market. Did you? Last year, Nadal lost the 1st set, and won the next 3. This year, Novak did not let him get a foot in at all. 3-0 Novak.

On to today...

Where I mention BANKER below, this signifies those matches where I think the favourites should win. These matches I would personally prioritise as regards DRT.

Remember the strategies:

Lay the 0-0 halftime score in certain signalled matches.

Lay the 0-0 2nd half in matches where goals were expected but have not yet materialised.

Lay the 2-2 scoreline, especially early on in matches. 2-2 shows us that teams are scoring and conceding.

Lay the away team leading 0-2 before halftime, especially if they are not the pre-market favourites. The home team is usually galvanised by the halftime team talk.

Lay the underdog if they score first in certain matches (especially BANKER matches where I would back the BANKERS if they conceded first at enhanced odds).

Lay the underdog scoring early in the first half, in the HALF TIME market, especially in BANKER matches.

Do note matches where one team is red carded. The opponents do tend to score next more often than not.

4pm - Costa Rica Youth v Qatar Youth  - 1.5 home

Standout Stats

  • More Qatari bashing? They keep losing don't they here in Toulon.
  • Costa Rica keep scoring, 3-2 loss to netherlands, 2-1 win over USA, and 2-1 loss v France.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Qatar have scored 0-1-0 this Toulon Tournament. Costa Rica should simply outscore Qatar today. If Qatar score first, lay them.

4:30pm - Haka v MP  - 1.41 home

Standout Stats

  • These 2 have not met since 1996.
  • This is 4th v 7th in the Finnish Ykkonen league after 6 matches.
  • This is not a match which appeals just yet. It's a league I am sure we can plunder a bit later on but after 6 matches...
  • MP have conceded 5-3-2 in their last 3 matches.  Haka have scored 2-4-1 in their last 3 home matches.

Profitable In-Play opportunities

  • Lay MP if they score first. They have been conceding loads in their last 3 matches.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - Djurgardens v Norrkoping - 1.91 home

Standout Stats

  • 3-5 Djurgarden, 1-1, 3-1 Djurgarden in the 3 recent head to heads. Both teams scored.
  • This is 6th v 4th in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Djurgardens

  • No defeat in 8 matches and in 4 at home.
  • Scored and conceded in their last 3 home matches.
  • 2 consecutive draws.
  • 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 home matches.
  • 2-3-5-3-3-2-0 scored in recent matches.
  • Scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • Failed to score in only 1 match, their last match 0-0
  • Scored in all home matches.
  • Scored 9 of 12 home goals in the 2nd half.

Norrkoping

  • No defeat in 7 matches.
  • Have scored in their last 8 matches and last 5 away.
  • 3 match winning streak.
  • 6 wins and a 2-2 in their last 7 matches.
  • Failed to score in only 1 match.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Both teams to score has a chance here from head to heads and both sides have failed to score in only 1 match.
  • Both sides are in solid form so it would just be the both teams to score for me. I tend to lay any team leading 2-0.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - France Youth v Netherlands Youth - 2.06 home

Standout Stats

  • No head to heads.
  • 1-3 win for France v USA, 0-2 win v Qatar and 2-1 v Costa Rica. The French are galvanised playing at home
  • As to the Netherlands, 3-2 win v Costa Rica, 3-1 loss to USA and 5-1 win over Qatar.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • France Youth are slightly favoured today in a match I'd expect to see both sides score in. I would lay the Netherlands if they scored first.

6:05pm - IFK Goteborg v Elfsborg  - 2.08 home

Standout Stats

  • 2 consecutive 0-0 draws in head to heads.
  • 3 0-0's in their last 4 head to heads. 2 Goteborg wins at home and a 0-0 in the last 3 Goteborg head to head matches.
  • This is 1st v 3rd in the Swedish Allvenskan - the winner today will go top.

Goteborg

  • 4 wins, a loss v Malmo and a 0-0 in home head to heads this season.
  • 4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches.
  • No defeat in 8 matches.
  • Only 1 loss this season.
  • No team has scored more than 1 goal against Goteborg at home.
  • Only 1 0-0 at home.

Elfsborg

  • 2 match winning streak away.
  • No draw in 5 away.
  • Scored and conceded in their last 4 matches.
  • Elfsborg have scored 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • Both teams have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • Failed to score in only 1 match.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • The 0-0 is in play given the head to heads. But surely this sequence will end . Look at Elfsborg's scoring recently. I expect them to score, as they are scoring 2 regularly. No team has scored more than 1 goal at home at Goteborg. I would lay the first goalscorer today as both teams have a propensity for goals this season.
  • Lay the late 0-0 in expectation of that head to head sequence ending.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7pm - Dinamo Kiev v Shakhtar  - 2.56 home

Standout Stats

  • 2-0 Shakhtar, 1-0 Kiev and 0-0 in the last 3 head to heads.
  • The Odds tell you that the market hasn't got a clue here.
  • This is the Ukrainian Cup.
  • Dinamo kiev have 11 wins and a draw in their last 12 cup matches.
  • 6 consecutive wins and a 1-1 draw for Shakhtar in their last 7 cup matches.
  • The last 3 matches for Shakhtar were 1-0, 1-0, 1-1.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • The head to heads tell you this could go either way. Both sides have excellent recent Cup form. I am afraid I agree with the betting market here and will leave this match alone.

French Open

2pm - Ana Ivanovic v Lucie Safarova  - 1.76 Lucie

7th v 13th in the rankings, and the higher ranked player is the marginal favourite. 5 consecutive Safarova wins in head to heads ended with an Ivanovic win last time out. In the French Open last year, Safarova won. 5 consecutive 2-0 wins for Safarova this French Open. 3 2-1's and 2 2-0's for Ana Ivanovic. I would lay the first set winner today. That would be the only value angle in today.

3:30pm - Serena Williams v Timea Bacsinszky - 1.18 Serena

1st v 24th in the rankings. 2-0 for Serena yesterday at odds of 1.12 was emphatic. In Indian Wells this year, Serena won 2-0 7-5 6-3. 3-0 in head to heads for Serena. Serena ended that run of losing the first set, winning the next 2 with a 2-0 last match. Timea dropped a set v Petra Kvitova and is expected to drop a set if leading 1-0 set betting. Nordea Masters Golf I note that Henrik Stenson is huge Favourite for the Nordea Masters at odds of 5.9. Next best is 22 on Betfair. It may be worth backing Henrik at these odds and hope he performs as per the huge price gap. It's a field lacking a number of the more well-known players. Do trade out if Stenson is at 1.5 or thereabouts as he missed the play-off last year when 1.62 in-play!
