Where I mention BANKER below, this signifies those matches where I think the favourites should win. These matches I would personally prioritise as regards DRT.

Remember the strategies:

Lay the 0-0 halftime score in certain signalled matches

Lay the 0-0 2nd half in matches where goals were expected but have not yet materialised

Lay the 2-2 scoreline, especially early on in matches. 2-2 shows us that teams are scoring and conceding.

Lay the away team leading 0-2 before halftime, especially if they are favourites. The home team is usually galvanised by the halftime team talk.

Lay the underdog if they score first in certain matches (especially BANKER matches where I would back the BANKERS if they conceded first at enhanced odds).

Lay the underdog scoring early in the first half, in the HALF TIME market , especially in BANKER matches.

Do note matches where one team is red carded. The opponents do tend to score next more often than not.

I plumped for 2-0, 2-1 correct score in the Barcelona match and was so nearly rewarded, but for a 90th minute Neymar goal.

I hope you found the tennis interesting. Serena Williams' odds increased in play as per research. Azarenka won the 2nd set.

There was indeed a tie breaker or 2 in the Isner match ( fancy that eh?).

Fognini won the first set against Dimitrov so I layed Fognini at odds of 1.96 expecting Dimitrov to come out and play. Indeed Dimi won the 2nd set and Fognini did his usual mental implosion.

Did you lay Federer at odds of 1.19? Kyrgios lost the first set on a tie breaker but won the next 2.

Granollers won the first set on a tie breaker. There's your clue that it was hardly emphatic. I layed Granollers 1 set up. Luckily Monfils won the 2nd set but ended up losing the match.

Nishikori dropped the 2nd set against up-and-coming Goffin but ended up winning the match.

Kohlschreiber took another set off Andy Murray. I should have plumped for laying 2-0 set betting rather than Andy who won the 1st set, lost the 2nd and emphatically won the 3rd. Andy's odds rose above the pre-match 1.37 once Kohlschreiber leveled the sets.

All in all, some decent angles yesterday and the tennis can only improve as I continue to focus on it.

The matches again today are tough to research and tough to get an angle into. Napoli do look compelling today on the form to date in the Europa League and this is the sole match I will focus on today. It is the first leg of a Europa League semi-final.  I will also do some tennis research today. I was happy with the research yesterday.

7:45pm - Sheff Utd v Swindon  - 2.32 home

Standout Stats

  • This is the first leg of a 2 legged League One play off. One off matches of such import are extremely difficult to research.
  • In the last 5 head to heads , the home team has won. Is this enough to favour Sheffield United?
  • Sheffield United drew their last 3 league matches 1-1 and actually score drew 4 of their last 5 matches in the league.
  • Losses at home for Sheffield United have been 0-1 or 1-2 this season.
  • Swindon this season lost all away matches v top 5 . Like Sheffield United, Swindon have 3 score draws in their last 4 matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • These play-offs are "best on the day". Strictly on form, Sheffield United are favoured here based on a) head to heads showing the home team are favoured and 2) Swindon have lost all away matches v top 5.

8:05pm - Napoli v Dnipro  - 1.4 home

Standout Stats

  • This is a Europa League Semi-final.
  • This is the 1st of 2 legs.

Napoli

  • Only 1 loss in this Europa League campaign this season was a loss to Young Boys, a team they beat easily at home 3-0.
  • 5 wins and a 2-2 draw at home in the Europa League ( EL).
  • 3-3-3-1-3-2 scored at home.

Dnipro

  • Only 2 wins in 5 EL matches were 1-0 home wins v Ajax and Club Brugge.
  • Only 1 win in away matches this EL campaign suggests Dnipro are vulnerable away.
  • Dnipro have conceded 2-2-0 in their last 3 EL matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Do remember that this is the first leg so away goals count. On bare form, it looks as if the market is right here. Napoli could continue to score 2/3 and Dnipro suffer away.
  • Dnipro will be looking at that away goal and if scoring first, are layable as Napoli will have to respond. In Benitez, Napoli have a Champions League hardened manager and should make the odds count.

8:05pm - Sevilla v Fiorentina  - 1.83 home

Standout Stats

  • This is the 2nd Europa League ( EL) Semi- Final
  • Both sides have only lost one match this EL campaign.
  • Sevilla have 6 consecutive home wins in the EL and the last 4 have been really tight, 1-0, 1-0, 2-1, 2-1
  • Sevilla have scored 2 goals in each of their last 5 EL matches.
  • Fiorentina are unbeaten away from home in the EL, with 2 1-1 draws in their last 3 away matches. They beat Roma 0-3 away which was a really eye-catching result.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Sevilla as favourites? This is too tough to call for me. Fiorentina keep scoring away from home. Sevilla keep scoring 2 goals in recent matches. Ergo 2-1 today? Surely not?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tennis 11:15am - Serena Williams v Carla Suárez Navarro  - 1.12 Serena. Great win for Navarro against Ivanovic yesterday . Navarro is really on the ascendancy. Williams struggled against a resurgent Azarenka, winning in 3 sets. 2 were tie breakers. 1st v 12th in the rankings. In April, in Miami, Navarro reached the final and lost 6-2, 6-0 to Williams . Nerves may have played a part for Navarro in her first major final for a while. 1.12 is always layable for me. Williams was 1.22 against Azarenka and dropped a set. 12pm - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga v Tomas Berdych  - 1.3 Berdych - 14th v 7th in the rankings.2-5 to Berdych in head to heads. All wins on hard surface and 3 wins in the last 4 for Berdych. Tsonga reached the 3rd round at Monte Carlo on clay, 2nd round only at Barcelona and dropped a set v Jack Sock in the last round match at Madrid. Berdych reached the final in Monaco and took a set off Djokovic.  Lay Tsonga if Tsonga wins the first set. 2:15pm - Rafael Nadal v Simone Bolelli  - 1.04 Nadal. At 1.03 yesterday, Rafa won in 2 sets against Johnson. 4th v 63rd in the rankings. 1.23 for 2-0 set win for Nadal. He does look a little laboured presently. The last 3 head to head wins were all straight set wins. 2010, 2012, 2014. I am going to lay Nadal at 1.04 again. He is not the man he was and the upside is far bigger than the downside. 4pm - David Ferrer v Fernando Verdasco  - 1.26 Ferrer. 8th v 38th in the rankings. This is another all spanish affair in Madrid .Ferrer reached the semi-final Barcelona and lost to a Spanish player.  In Monte Carlo, Verdasco lost in the first round to Dimitrov so will be vulnerable today. Yesterday Verdasco won with 2 tie breaker sets , winning one and losing one. This is not an emphatic win. My theory that Spanish v Spanish in Madrid would offer some resistance v Ferrer. Verdasco was impressive yesterday against Cilic  winning 1 of 2 tie breakers. 6pm - Marcel Granollers v Andy Murray  - 1.19 Murray 62nd v 3rd in the rankings. 1-4 to Murray in head to heads. 2 consecutive 2-0 set wins for Murray. 2 of the sets were 7-6 and 7-5 and this was the pattern with Granollers yesterday against Monfils. 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 in yesterday's match v Monfils saw Granollers back up his head to head wins against Monfils .Andy Murray won the final in the BMW Open and beat Kohlschreiber again yesterday . If Granollers is not worn by his mightly tussle with Monfils, he could offer some resistance to Andy. If Granollers wins the first set as he did yesterday, I will lay him. 7pm - Roberto Bautista Agut v Kei Nishikori  - 1.28 Nishikori - 16th v 5th in the rankings. Agut was beaten by Murray in the semi-final in Germany  . Are top 10 opponents a step too far? Nishikori beat Agut 2-1 in Barcelona on his way to the title. He dropped the 2nd set. In the last 2 head to heads, both in Barcelona, Nishikori won 2-1 in both matches. If Nishikori wins the first set, lay him in the 2-0 set betting market. Agut could nick a set as he has done in the meeting in Barcelona. 8:45pm - Milos Raonic v Leonardo Mayer  - 1.31 Raonic. - 6th v 27th in the rankings.  No head to heads. We saw yesterday with Federer and Kyrgios that 1st time meetings can suggest a shock. Mayer has been out in the 2nd round in their last 2 clay tournaments. Raonic reached the 4th round in Miami and the quarters in Monte Carlo where he retired. Raonic is used to going deep in tournaments now. 1.31 Raonic is layable based on the no head to heads theory which could see Mayer's game simply jar Raonic? I hope you "get" the idea of DRT and tennis. I will delve more deeply into my ideas on how to trade tennis over the summer.
