Lay the 0-0 halftime score in certain signaled matches.

Look out for a 0-0 at halftime in matches where we expected goals. Augsburg v Werder Bremen was a ready recent example. Research suggested over 2.5 goals (3+ goals expected). The match was 0-0 at halftime. Where are the goals? Back over 2.5 goals at enhanced odds for the 2nd half. 3 goals were scored in this case.

Lay the 0-0 2nd half in matches where goals were expected but have not yet materialized.

Lay the 2-2 scoreline, especially early on in matches. 2-2 shows us that teams are scoring and conceding.

Lay the away team leading 0-2 before halftime, especially if they are not the pre-market favorites. The home team is usually galvanized by the halftime team talk.

Lay the underdog if they score first in certain matches (especially BANKER matches where I would back the BANKERS if they conceded first at enhanced odds).

I back BANKER bets with level stakes, re-calculating the level stakes every 20 bets and bet with that new level stake amount for the next 20 bets.

Lay the underdog scoring early in the first half, in the HALF TIME market, especially in BANKER matches.

Do note matches where one team is red carded. The opponents do tend to score next more often than not.

Killer stats are in bold italics. MOTD signals any match(es) I would prioritize my focus on if I had to choose just one or two matches in order to shorten the work load. These are the Matches of The Day. The DRT stripped Bulletin is absent today.

I think last night showed you why I leave the English Championship alone. It is an unreadable league and far too competitive. We face another very tough football coupon today and I would recommend taking the night off. The Champions League matches are traded based on your opinion, if you have one, about how the matches may unfold. The 2 French Ligue 1 matches are very unappealing and the Scottish Premiership match could see both teams scoring.

5pm - Zenit St Petersburg v Benfica - 2.1 home

Standout Stats

  • This is a 2nd leg Champions League tie and Benfica stole a 90th minute winner in the first leg and also kept Zenit from scoring those oh-so-precious away goals.
  • Benfica are tactically in the driving seat this evening. If they score an away goal, they know that Zenit will have to score 3 goals in reply.
  • The loss to Benfica was the only loss for Zenit in their last 6 matches.
  • Zenit are unbeaten in the last 13 home matches in all competitions and in those 13 matches did not concede more than 1 goal in a single match.
  • Zenit have now lost 2 consecutive matches in the Champions League, both away.
  • Zenit have won their last 4 home matches and beat Benfica 1-0 at home in November 2014.
  • 15 wins and a loss to Porto in Benfica's last 16 matches in all competitions.
  • Benfica have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 matches in all competitions.
  • 9 consecutive away wins for Benfica in all competitions.
  • Losses in the 2015 campaign in the Champions League came v Galatasary and Atl Madrid.
  • Benfica do have an eyecatchingly poor away record in the Champions League. Only 2 wins in their last 15 away matches.
  • Benfica have scored 2-1-2 in their last 3 away Champions League matches, and that would perfectly suit today.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Zenit St Petersburg must score first so expect a rear-guard action from them today in search of a clean sheet and a goal on the break.
  • If Zenit score first, then it is still advantage Benfica who only need a score draw to go through (as well as a 0-0 bare minimum).
  • If Benfica score, take a chance on the 3-1 Zenit scoreline.

7:45pm - Chelsea v Paris St-G - 2.76 away

Standout Stats

  • Since 2014 in the Champions League, it has been 2-0 and 2-2 when PSG have visited Chelsea. The 3 2015 Champions League matches have been 1-1, 2-2, and 2-1 PSG.
  • Chelsea have that all-important away goal.
  • Chelsea's only loss in 17 matches came against PSG.
  • Rather worryingly for Chelsea, both teams have scored in 7 of their last 9 home matches in all competitions.
  • Chelsea have scored 2-3-2-2-2-3-1-5-5-1 goals in those matches.
  • The last time Chelsea and PSG met at home, the 2 goals came after the 80th minute.
  • Chelsea have scored 2 goals at least in each of their last 6 home matches in the Champions League.
  • Only 1 loss for PSG in all competitions since 7th November 2015.
  • Only Barcelona and Real Madrid have beaten PSG recently in the Champions League.
  • Since 2014, only 3 teams have managed to beat a PSG away side and those are Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Here are the permutations.
  • Chelsea must score first in order to take advantage of their away goal. A 1-0 takes Chelsea through with the minimum of fuss.
  • If PSG score first, Chelsea must score 2 goals and will go through on that basis with a 2-1 win.
  • It is if PSG score twice that Chelsea enter the tough zone.
  • Chelsea have scored regularly against PSG. They must be feeling confident. The problem is that Chelsea are scoring and conceding at home and cannot afford that tonight.
  • If you think Chelsea will be gunning for a 1-0, then back 0-0 pre match and hope the match is 0-0 for a while and that it repeats the last head to head in the Champions League at Chelsea which saw 80th minute goals.
  • If you think PSG will go through in 90 minutes then 1-2 is a possible scoreline.

5:30pm - Ajaccio GFCO v Marseille - 2.24 away

Standout Stats

  • 1-1 earlier this season saw Ajaccio score a penalty, Marseille equalise and then Marseille get a player sent off.
  • This is 18th v 13th in French Ligue 1.

Ajaccio GFCO

  • S touch of the draw-itis.
  • No win in 9 matches.
  • 2 consecutive 1-1 draws, part of a run of 3 draws in 4 matches.
  • Only 4 clean sheets all season.
  • Only 3 home wins v 3rd, 4th and 12th.
  • Only 2 0-0's at halftime at home.
  • Only 1 0-0 at home.

Marseille

  • 7 1-1 scorelines in their last 11 matches.
  • 3 consecutive 1-1 scorelines.
  • Scored and conceded in 10 of their last 12 matches.
  • Failed to score in only 5 matches.
  • Only 2 losses in 19 matches but only 4 wins tells you they have a touch of what Ajaccio have - draw-itis.
  • 6 of Marseille's 8 wins this season have come away from home.
  • They are yet to beat 16th and lower away from home though.
  • Scored first on 10/13 away matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Marseille are much more likely to win away from home and given the draw-itis from the 2 sides, I would lay Ajaccio if Ajaccio scored first here given the Marseille win ratio away.
  • A draw looks very obvious here. I would lay the late draw though in the hope these sequences of Draw-itis can be banished.

5:30pm - SC Bastia v Nantes - 2.9 home

Standout Stats

  • The odds tell us everything here. The market cannot split these 2. Reminds me of the English Championship yesterday.
  • This is 11th v 8th in the French Ligue 1. 3 0-0 scorelines in the last 4 head to heads.

SC Bastia

  • No defeat in 5 home matches.
  • 5 consecutive home clean sheets and 4 overall.
  • All defeats bar 1 at home came v the top 4 sides.
  • In the 4 home matches played v 6th-15th, Bastia saw 1-0,0-0, 1-0, 1-0 scorelines.
  • 9 clean sheets in 10 wins at home.
  • 6 0-0'sat halftime at home is 43% of matches.
  • Scored first in 10/14 matches at home.

Nantes

  • Only 1 loss in 14 came away to Rennes last match.
  • Only 2 wins in 9 matches away v teams below them in the league.
  • V 7th-15th away, Nantes scored 0-0-0-0-1-1 goals.
  • Conceded 11 of their 15 away goals in the 2nd half of matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • I would err on the side of under 2.5 goals in this match.
  • I will back 0-0 pre match and hope that Bastia continue their excellent clean sheetery and Nantes continue to have trouble scoring away v 7th-15th in the league.
  • It is as tough to call, after that, as the market suggests. I can make a fair argument for both sides.

7:45pm - St Johnstone v Inverness CT - 2.46 home

Standout Stats

  • 1-1, 1-1, 0-1 St Johnstone in the last 3 head to heads.
  • This is 6th v 9th in the Scottish Premier League.

St Johnstone

  • Scored and conceded in their last 3 home matches.
  • Conceded in their last 7 matches overall.
  • Conceded at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 7 matches.
  • Only 3 clean sheets.
  • Only 1 win in 11 matches.
  • Only 1 0-0 at halftime in their last 7 matches.
  • Both teams have scored in 75% of matches this season.
  • Have conceded 7 goals in the first 1/4 hour of home matches.
  • Have scored and conceded in all bar 1 home match v teams below them in the league.

Inverness

  • Conceded in their last 14 away matches.
  • 2-2-3-2-3-1-2 goals conceded in recent away matches.
  • Scored and conceded in all bar one match away v 4th and lower.
  • Conceded 9 goals away in the last 15 mins of matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • I think both teams could score today. I would lay any team 2-0 up. I would lay any side 1-0 up late on in the game.
  • Lay the 0-0 halftime score in the hope that St Johnstone matches continue to see at least a goal before halftime.
  • I will back 2-2 pre-match and hope that a) both teams score and b) both teams concede at least 2 goals as has been the case recently.
